In Search of the Gods: The Greatest Gift To Humanity
It is taught, within the Kemetic temples of the Nile and Niger Valleys, that before humanity set our eyes upon the perfect model, or the World of Neteru (Gods), we were all living in a very low and barbaric state. We knew nothing about cleanliness, purity, agriculture, spirituality or the domestication of animals and plants. It is even taught that we once hunted each other by setting traps, and afterwards, eating our catch. There was nothing that separated a human being's behavior from that of any four-legged animal. Somehow, we have all heard of such a period in human history, but in our assessment, it only applied to those of caucasian ancestry. But according to the initiatic education, humanity as a whole lived this beastly and uncivilized quality of life before being made aware of the Divine World. While this may be a very unsettling thought for a person of color to stomach, nonetheless, this part of our history has been preserved and passed down by the traditional priesthood of ancient Kemet. This article is not being written as something for the reader to agree or disagree with; with the contents here, only intend to share what is being taught by the Kemetic priests of Merita (Africa) as it was taught to them by their masters for millennia.
If we take an honest observation of the world today, we can see the remnants and continuity of the savagery a human is capable of, regardless of one's cultural background. When we look at the low regard we have for preserving human life, the murders and massacres that are committed daily, and the destructive tendencies we all exhibit, it doesn't sound so far fetched to envision a world of hu- mans hunting and eating other humans. If there is no concept of anything being taboo, all that is left is chaos. Life then becomes a free for all and anything goes. It may appear that such a world is very far from us now, but actually, it is a lot closer than we may perceive or would like to believe.
It was through the actions of the ancestral Neter (God) Wsr, known as Osiris by the Greeks, that humanity was given the opportunity to strive for and attain a higher quality of life beyond what we were accustomed to before our awareness of the World of Neteru. Although Wsr is a Neter, he had the human experience and was among the first humans to live on Earth. This made Wsr a very unique Neter, being that his divine nature allowed him to be human at the same time. The Kemetic education teaches us that there are three types of Neteru: self-created Neteru, created Neteru, and Neteru in human form. Wsr is the latter, along with Aishat (Isis), Seth (modern day Satan) and Nebfest (Nephtys). These four Neteru were attributed human qualities as well as divine ones, and they were all given equal reign and dominion of the Earth upon being created. But what makes Wsr the first ancestor of humanity was the choice he made to experience his immortality through death and resurrection, unlike Seth, who chose to have immortality through self-preservation, meaning to never die at all. Wsr's death and resurrection can be seen in everything in nature, and more specifically through his descendants, his children, their children and so on. This choice Wsr made ensured his immortality every time a life was born into the existence. Seth was made sterile as a result of the choice he made. There was no need for him to have children if he would always be here. There would be no need to have someone carry on his name or legacy, because he can never die a physical death like Wsr. It was these choices that were made by these two Neteru that set the foundation for the history of humanity as we know it today.
Every human birth is seen as a resurrection of Wsr. He is the Godfather to all of humanity, and every human is his descendent. Just as it is the responsibility of a father to take care of his children, Wsr took on that responsibility on levels that our fragile minds are still struggling to become aware of or even comprehend.
Not only did Wsr open the doors for us to have life as his descendants, but he also appealed to the Ennead of Neteru above himself to allow us, his children, to have a model that we can use as an inspiration to lift ourselves out of our uncivilized and barbaric ways of living. They heard Wsr's plea and revealed the Divine World to all of humanity. It was after being exposed to the World of Neteru that we became inspired and motivated to reproduce their world by striving to become like the Neteru ourselves. They even gave us the blueprint on how a human can reach the status of a Neter. This blueprint is known as The Code of Human Behavior (77 Commandments), and they serve as the perfect model for us to follow in order to raise our human qualities. These seventy-seven principles were given to us by many of the Neteru. The Neter known as Tehuti (Thot) presented them to humanity after Wsr had collected them from the World of the Gods. This event happened on the 19th day of Tehuti of the original Kemetic calendar, and we still celebrate it today.
This act alone shows how much Wsr cares about us, but this was just the beginning of his kindness. It was because we had the quality of death and resurrection, Wsr wanted to make sure we had a place to go after we die, a place that only his children could access, a place that his brother Seth, who also murdered Wsr during one of his lifetimes on Earth, could not enter. We know this place as the Imentet or the World of the Dead. The modern religions call this place heaven. It is where a human is judged for the life he led while on Earth. The same Neteru who contributed to the 77 Commandments given to us as the result of Wsr's request, are also there to question our adherence to them. But our fate and final judgment lies in the hands of Wsr, for the kingdom of the Imentet belongs to and was created specifically by him. It is taught that humanity cared more about the chance to be judged by Wsr than even the punishment that could come through his judgement, just the idea alone of being judged by Wsr was an honour beyond measure. This is another testament of how much humanity revered our ancestral Neter. It was Wsr who first taught humanity how to be spiritually pure through the process of ablution. Since we decided to strive to reach the status of Neteru, our first step was to maintain a high level of purity and cleanliness at all times. Wsr taught us that notion. He also taught us how to farm the Earth and grow food to eat for our physical health and vitality.
It was Wsr who taught us how to use plants to heal the body, and how to domesticate animals to assist us when needed. Anything a human being will possibly need for his survival, Wsr taught it to us. What a gift! According to the mystery school education, humanity was so attached to the Neter, that the very first World War occurred because every village, community and nation wanted the right to bury Wsr's body in their area after one of his deaths! The violence came to a halt only after it was agreed that every place would take a small piece of the dead Neter's body to bury. They then marked those territories with monuments so people would know where to go in order to perform ceremonial offerings to Wsr. This event in history is where humans got the concept of marking the graves of the dead with stones or monuments.
As mentioned earlier, Wsr's influence can be seen in everything. There are many examples all around us that we can observe. In the nature, anywhere we can observe a green color, we know there will be some form of life (trees, plants ect.). Due to the change of seasons, there will be periods when life will be absent, but in time, it will return again. This phenomenon goes back to the decision Wsr made to die and resurrect. Observing the moon gives us another example of Wsr's influence. The Holy Drama teaches us that when Wsr was killed by his brother Seth, he was cut into fourteen pieces, and each piece of his body was scattered throughout the world. Wsr's wife, the Netert (goddess) Aishat, with the help of her sister goddesses combed the Earth and collected each piece one by one, all except his male principle. There are twenty-eight days between each new moon. It takes fourteen days for the moon to wane, which is symbolic of Wsr's fourteen body parts being scattered, and it takes fourteen days for the moon to wax, which is symbolic of Aishat putting the pieces back together in order to conceive their son, Heru.
It is customary within this column to explore the spiritual systems of the many diverse indigenous groups of the world, but it is also important from time to time to remind our readers of the Neter that we have the most in common with. Although the modern world has presented Wsr as some sort of myth, he is anything but that. Maybe it is time we tried to understand how connected we are to this Neter and what he had done for humanity. In reality, this article does very little justice in explaining the contributions Wsr gave to a human being, but hopefully, it will give some small motivation to the one who is honestly seeking for truth. We will continue seeking as well, and we will continue our pursuit in search of the Gods.
