An M'TAM Graduation of Kem
GRADUATION IS A very special time for an individual and his or her family. Throughout human history, among various cultures, ceremonies held to celebrate the accomplishments of people are held dear to the community. The M'TAM School of Kemetic Philosophy and Spirituality has just graduated another generation of students. Though separated by distance, this generation is the first to be connected by the time in which they entered M'TAM initiation. A generation is a group of people that comes together at the same time with the intention of learning and improving their own quality. This group becomes connected through the common destiny they have chosen and the common values they will receive and apply in managing that destiny.
In America, graduation is a very celebrated and respected time. Whether graduating from high school or college, one's graduation ceremonies bring out family and friends who wish to congratulate their loved one and the accomplishments they've fulfilled. American graduations, like all colonial ceremonies, are surrounded in elegance, luxury and excess. Wealthy universities use elaborate ceremonies to cover up the fact that the individual accomplishment is more an accomplishment for the university and the colonial society than the individual. This is a trait of the colonial world, to ask individuals to sacrifice themselves in order to empower the industrial machine. The colonial education system has become more of a training ground, equipping the student with the tools to maintain the system and move forward in the system's manufactured reality. No emphasis is given to the natural world or the individuals or the community or society's harmonic place within it. This leaves people with a tremendous spiritual void which we end up looking outside of ourselves in order to fill.
The M'TAM School is very different from the modern education system and the paradigm it provides to those who adopt it. M'TAM is a very old education. It originated in humanity's first civilization, the civilization of the Nile Valley. It was in this civilization that humanity reached spiritual heights that we have not yet returned to. It was in this civilization that the foundations of philosophy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, alchemy, astronomy, architecture, etc. were established. It is the cultures that have maintained the paradigm, values and education system of this original culture that are able to cure the illnesses that today's colonial medical system's cannot, answer the questions that today's scientists cannot, and do what today's individuals call impossible. It is from these cultures that M'TAM was brought to the United States.
Graduation from M'TAM is an extremely important time in the life of an individual. Throughout the history of the world, M'TAM has built a reputation of producing super-humans. Human beings who, through learning the Universal Order of existence, become empowered in the universe and the natural reality. Humans whose power does not destroy themselves and their surroundings, but empowers through its contribution to the harmony of the Illinois existence. According to the traditions, one's graduation from the first level of M'TAM initiation is celebrated as one would celebrate his/her birthday in and the modern world. This is so, because it is within the first level of initiation that one gains the quality and knowledge to honestly face life, the self, and the challenges of the world. Therefore, it is like the initiate is reborn into the world equipped with the values of their ancestors i.e. The Code of Human Behavior, the awareness and veneration of the Divine World and the World of the Dead.
For the recent generation of the M'TAM School, graduations took place in both Brooklyn, New York and Chicago, Illinois. This generation marks the first time in the history of the M'TAM Schools on US soil, in which people in separate states came together in the same time period to become a part of the same generation. The initiates who are in the same generation all share the same last name, a name that they have received from a traditional Bayuali (Earth Energy) reading done to determine the collective identity and spiritual destiny of the group. The name of this generation is Maakmaha. On the 3rd of Nwt (September 8th) in Brooklyn, New York, the first three initiates of the Maakmaha generation completed their first level of the Ka'at Ibi meditation class. The first three initiates are Ibsahu Maakmaha (formerly Ivor Edmonds), Bouhetep Maakmaha (formerly Abbey Tenis) and Khentiyah Maakmaha (formerly Galina Reznik). These three initiates were initiated in the New York center under the tutelage of Herpw Bikbaye Inejnema and Baheru Meniooh. On the 10th of Penipt (October 20th) in Chicago, five more initiates joined this generation: Sadeni Maakmaha (formerly Rendé Miller), Bouziry Maakmaha (formerly Vashti Brown), Kasabez Maakmaha (formerly Matthew Arnett) who finished their first level of the Medu Language course and Kanubti Maakmaha (formerly Shanton Mathis), and Boumenthou Maakmaha (formerly Dunduza Howard) who finished their first level of the Ka'at Ibi meditation course. Sadeni Maakmaha and Kasabez Maakmaha completed all three first level M'TAM courses: The Medu, Ka'at Ibi Meditation and The Traditional Healing courses. These students were initiated in the Chicago, Illinois center under the tutelage of Herpw Bikdeni Inejnema, Nehez Meniooh, Baheru Meniooh, Menzeba HaSati, Thaoo-Aishat HaSati, MarrwhoHaSati & Khefira HaSati.
Let us take this time to congratulate these individuals for taking on the challenge of facing themselves and improving their individual quality so that they can become Kem (harmonious elements of nature). May their accomplishment inspire others to look past the false rewards given to the self-sacrificing individuals who join hands to destroy the world instead of putting their efforts into building themselves and their quality and into upholding the Divine Order.
