A Sacrifice Worth Making
The Initiate: A Sacrifice Worth Making
The initiation process that is provided by Master Naba and the Earth Center has been the most challenging and rewarding experience that I have encountered in my life. I have been studying for a little over a year and throughout the ups and downs, I can see positive results. I can honestly say that the knowledge and values that I have received so far have slowly begun to change my entire outlook on life. I have a greater respect for life, more than I did prior to coming to the Earth Center. I have been more focused on how I live time as wisely as possible. I have also been a lot more conscious of my thoughts and actions. I am starting to see how they affect me personally and how they affect my surroundings, both negatively and positively.
As my class/generation progresses week by week, we learn more about the culture, values, language, philosophy, and spirituality. We are given tools to inspire us as well as keep us focused while we continue with our spiritual growth. We learn new concepts that help us battle against the corruption within ourselves and within others.
In our latest class lecture, we discussed the concept of sacrifice. We talked about the importance of sacrifice when it comes to survival and living a spiritual life. More and more I can see the significance of this concept.
Since coming to the Earth Center one of the main sacrifices that I have made is with my personal time. I used to have all the time in the world. I used it to do whatever I wanted. I could go out and do activities by myself or with friends; I could watch television; I could waste it sitting at home doing nothing, and so on and so on. Now my personal time has become very valuable and very limited. It has been sacrificed so that I can take on more responsibilities. I am now responsible for my own personal growth, my brothers' and sisters' growth, and the growth of the Earth Center.
I constantly have work to do such as homework, studying, helping out at the Earth Center, writing articles, illustrating Prince Bako for Ue Sunnyside newspaper, etc… I try not to get discouraged because there are other members of the Earth Center that have a lot more duties and responsibilities than I. I could be doing whatever I want right now, but I have sacrificed that freedom so that I can be a member of the Earth Center.
The message that Master Naba is bringing is very important for those individuals who seek a better way of life. The Earth Center is the only place that provides this traditional knowledge. There are many other spiritual organizations, but none have the same authenticity. Master Naba has often told us that, "the world that we want to see, it is up to us to build it". That is the goal of the Earth Center, to build a better world, a world of quality and morality.
That is why I am sacrificing my life energy to help expand the Earth Center and spread this knowledge. As the Earth Center grows the responsibilities of its members grow, and everyone is expected to put forth the effort and sacrifice.
