Spirituality & Reality
Ka’at Ibi: Spirituality & Reality
The first thing we need to examine and for us to understand in this discussion is what is reality? Through the system of European dominance and colonialism across the globe, we are fed through various sources many distortions and often conflicting images, ideologies etc. of what we should accept as reality. All of which is fatalistic in its nature and will lead us to not only the destruction of the world but ourselves in the process. The reality which we currently perceive is a construct of strategic social conditioning that we are programmed to think is totally separate from all other aspects of existence. The modernisation of everything around us, on us and in us are illusions of what we have fictitiously built to hide from the true face of what is.
If every religion or form of spiritual beliefs accept that the world or even the universe was created by Divine intelligence then we should also accept that this was for a divine purpose. With that logic, it’s easy to conclude that reality is determined by the divine creators and not the creation.
The creation itself is a physical manifestation that is connected to the divine through spirituality. Our routine spiritual practises, principles, and traditions that were given to us by the Divine World with the intent that we would be able to face the true reality they created, which is nature, that modern society is trying to shield us from. It is an important step to utilise our spirituality to guide us towards the goal we set for ourselves of living in accordance with the reality established by the Divine World.
Spirituality is a part of every aspect of our lives to keep us focused on our agenda. The more we live it through discipline and consistency, the better equipped we are to face a reality that is dynamic and composed of various cycles, rhythms, and forces all working together towards the divine becoming of existence. Everything that exists plays a conscious or unconscious role in that. Spirituality strengthens us to be conscious participants and therefore guarantees our chances of survival. It takes many lifetimes and development of divine qualities to truly become a master but any effort taken to achieve this can only yield favourable results.
From my personal experience, I have had many changes in my life on my spiritual journey. The current challenge is deconstructing what I perceive to be reality from what it actually is. Letting go of attachments and managing my emotions on things I find pleasure in. Realising that these things are just obstacles to separate me from nature and misdirected me from moving towards my goal, as a novice initiate, I realise that I only have an idea of what reality looks like. So, even if I did catch a glimpse of its true face, I wouldn’t know.
Spirituality taught me the goal that my ancestors and the rest of humanity chose when presented with the question by the Neteru. The goal now serves as a compass heading for me. So even though I can’t see the destination, I at least know in which direction I need to travel with spirituality providing the tools to help me get there.
