The Initiate: Monuments of Culture-less-ness
When I was growing up in Africa, I learnt to be patient with the understanding that there is a time and a place for everything. In order to get something, one has to know the right time to go get it and where to find it. Today I live in a society that totally lacks this knowledge. People have no patience or tolerance for other human beings, so they have no problems treating other human beings worst than they would treat an animal. People also lack the sense of community or belonging because the culture encourages individualism. That’s why there is such a high rate of divorce, family breakup, depression, suicide, and loneliness. So people turn to animals for companionship, thereby, elevating the animals to human status.
In this culture, people care more about animals they consider as pets than they care about fellow human beings. That’s why people can easily be put in jail for acts such as conducting dog fights or any perceived cruelty to animals considered pets. At the same time, it is acceptable to shoot black people in the street like dogs and the culprit is not punished for this wrong. It is also acceptable to let millions of people, including babies and children, starve to death in the so-called third world countries. No human culture will place animals above the lives of human beings, no matter how much respect they have for the life and well being of animals.
This causes me to wonder what kind of culture I am living in? What culture will adapt to a “scorched earth” mentality to get what it wants? What culture will only pay lip service to the need of other humans in terms of ending poverty, hunger, starvation, child labour, child abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, global warming, human trafficking, slavery, and war? In addition, what culture pay lip service to preserve clean water while at the same time spending billions of dollars creating and maintaining the very conditions that bring about these terrible sufferings upon their fellow human?
In my quest for answers, I try to identify monuments or pillars on which this culture stands. Pillars that will cause people to be so indifferent to the plight of other people. I would like to discuss the following five pillars that I consider key among many others: Government, Law, Wealth and Money, Education and Religion.
GOVERNMENT
People have been taught that government exists to fight evil with force. Government has the right to kill people, as in capital punishment, wars, extrajudicial killings, etc. This also extends to the imprisonment of its people they don’t want in society. Government also has the right to write laws, and enforce them. Without government, it will be a matter of bad people getting together and overpowering good people. Government is simply good people working together to keep evil people from doing bad deeds, but by what means? Is it by doing the very things the evil people would have done?
Let’s consider a corrupt government for a minute. Since these people are not bound by the principles of nature or the Divine Code of Human Behaviour, what stops them from using law enforcement agencies to punish good people they dislike? In the meantime, they are ignoring and sometimes facilitating serious crimes such as murder, torture and sexual offences against others to maintain their power.
LAW
In this society, it is commonly said this is a nation of laws. So, what is the law? Who makes the law? Are the people making the law bound by nature’s law or by the Divine Code of Human Behaviour? If not, how do we know the law is fair? How do we know the law was not meant to target certain people that are not acting in accordance with the powers that be? A major problem with laws is that they are usually ambiguous. Laws are not stated clearly and plain enough, or writing in a well-structured language. This means if a person is seeking information on a law’s cause of action, or that person is a party to a matter in which the court of law is coming into play, that person almost certainly needs the advice and counsel of a licensed attorney. An attorney who knows where to find the law, how to read it, how to know what is a good law (or what’s been overturned), and how to argue for whichever interpretation of the law you want to apply in your case. The problem is that not everybody, in-fact the majority of the people do not have the means to afford those counsellors. We all know where those people always end up... in the dungeons of society. Talk about a culture that does not care about its own.
WEALTH AND MONEY
It is often said that people need to be economically prosperous. Other than stealing and killing, business is the way to accomplish prosperity. This is done through corporations that allow people to come together and work toward economic benefit for themselves, and their partners. The claim is that without business, it is impossible to gain wealth and move necessary goods around society thereby making it impossible for people to secure the physical blessings of liberty. Let me remind you that people enter into business to make a profit, not to take care of the needs of other people like humans do. With corporations not in observance of nature’s law and the Divine Code of Human Behaviour, why should they care about the needs of others and the environment? The sheer complexity of starting and maintaining a business in this society should explain why many people have only one device left to them; that is to submit themselves to voluntary slavery or wage slavery. This entails working for another person in exchange for their sustenance. A true human will not subject another human to slavery just to enrich themselves or just because they have the power to do so.
EDUCATION
Education in this culture is confined to schools and colleges. It has become a process of creating work robots or machines. People are being filled with facts according to the politicians and knowledge they decide is good for them. People are not being taught the basic knowledge of life: how to live, how to clean themselves and how to make a living according to the directions of nature. As we all know, life itself or the elders and people who have lived life in a positive manner are the only true basis of teaching and learning; not arts and books. Modern education has spread more ignorance than knowledge. Most people don’t even know where their food comes from. How can a person survive without knowledge of their environment, the knowledge of themselves, and how they should behave in society? How are they supposed to survive when there are no factories to employ them? A real human being should be able to survive with the knowledge and understanding of the environment they live in. This is too much to say for people depending on the education of modern society.
RELIGION
Religion gives people something to aspire to. Religion lays down the road map people must follow to obtain the idea of spiritual fulfilment. In some ways, it can be argued that religion is the pillar that holds up all the other pillars of society. Without a religious belief in which laws must be followed, government would cease to exist. Without a religious belief that one must work and benefit society, businesses would collapse. It preaches to the families and demands that they follow rules claimed to be from God but really set up by men. Religion as we know only benefits the people in authority (political and religious). Religion keeps people bound to the precepts of man and has absolutely nothing to do with a person’s spirituality. After all, according to the teachings of Christianity people can live their entire life doing evil against their fellow human beings, however, just before they die, they can ask God to forgive them and they will be forgiven. During the week, a person can be a shrewd businessman in a competitive marketplace cutting each other down. On the weekend, however, he or she can go to a place of worship and ask forgiveness for their transgressions, and then go back on Monday and start all over again.
Naturally, I have serious issues with the monuments mentioned above. I clearly do not agree with these monuments and what they represent. However living in a world overtaken and controlled by people with a colonial mindset, I could not get any clarity on these monuments. There were just too many things that did not seem right to me, but there was no alternative for me to consider until I found the M’TAM School at the Earth Center. Now that I am an Initiate, I have learnt about the African Traditional Culture Monuments from which the above monuments were copied and distorted.
As an initiate, I subscribe to the traditional Kemetic Cultural Monuments like the 77 Commandments, the Kemetic Leadership Structure, Temples and Priests, Polytheism and Sacred (or Holy) Cows, Paganism, and Polygamy. I can identify with these monuments because they are focused on the spiritual well-being of the people. When a system is created on the basis of these monuments then one can be sure it is designed to create a space for the individual to focus on his/ her spiritual path. Under this system, people will not have to deal with the injustice, inequality and unnecessary suffering that are brought about by the system built on those distorted monuments.
By focusing on their spiritual path the people don’t have to worry about religion. People will no longer have to worry about some government officials or some officers of the law who will make life difficult by enslaving them. Those officials and law officers will also be concerned with their spiritual path. People won’t have to worry about wealth and education because by showing care towards one another and taking part in their community effort they will be taken care of. The Divine Code of Human Behaviour is the primary guide to life for the people.
In Africa, where I was born and raised, mothers carry their babies on their back. What child on their mother’s back will go about hitting his or her mother on the back, bite the mother’s back, stick needles in the mother’s back and pull the mother’s hair, etc? In what mental state do you think that child would be considered? What do you think will happen to that child? Even the animals know how to behave when they are on their mother’s back. At this point, that is too much to say about the human race living under the leadership of the modern system. As we all are sitting on the back of mother earth, those under the modern system cannot stop digging holes in the ground and exploding thermonuclear devices in them to perfect the art of killing. They dig holes in the ground to extract minerals for personal benefits. They blow up mountains to extract minerals and coal. They cut down the forest to sell the wood for money. They clear out large areas in the forest to build huge structures, etc. This is not different from that child who does not know how to behave on his mother’s back. Only a non-human or a crazy person will do such a thing.
