The Prostate: Traditional Medical Treatments

Due to the propensity of the prostate cancer epidemic we wish to bring the reader a very in-depth article to assist men and their families who are navigating their way through the language, diagnosis and treatments used for prostate issues and prostate cancer by the modern medical system. We know that due to the political and economic strength of the modern medical system it is the most widely used and relied upon medical system in the modern world. We also tend to present an alternative understanding to prostate health as well as treatments and preventative measures from the traditional natural medical field. This is the final article in a three part series of articles.

Ixachitlan Healing

THERE ARE RICH TRADITIONS on the continent of Maanu (North and South America) in bush areas like the mountains of Mexico and other areas which have withstood, to some degree, the onslaught of modern cultural imperialism (i.e. slavery and genocide). These traditions are equipped with their "medicine men and women", "men and women of knowledge", brujos, priest/healers, ticiti, tepahtiani, etc. who keep the traditional knowledge of plants and nature and live at a quality high enough to influence and save lives within their communities. For many people around the globe who are aware of the currents of recent human history and of the source of a lot of the beliefs and political agendas that dominate the media today, it is these men and women who are the elders or authorities on medicine.

It is with issues like prostate cancer where this is becoming more and more glaringly evident. Prostate cancer, like many other modern diseases, was virtually non-existent before Europeans, fleeing from oppression, came to this continent (called Ixachitlan by the native people), bringing with them the disharmony and destructive lifestyle which they were fleeing. Traditional healers/priests are models for us of how to keep a level head and never surrender to the fear and worry/anxieties which the colonial medical system induces in us and then plays on it.

Today more and more citizens of metropolitan areas around the US are becoming more and more interested in traditional options, but they tend to look for those natural alternatives within the same system and paradigm whose pharmaceutical and surgical options they were trying to avoid. When thoroughly investigated, these options (listed in part 2 of this series) are exposed as being more dangerous and life-threatening than the prostate cancer itself. They expose a mind-frame that will use a blowtorch to kill a roach... or a laser to cure disease. Many modern medical patients are realizing that medical science is suggesting we poison, kill and cut at the body in hopes that the cancer dies before the cancer patient.

Did you know that even when a person dies from the toxicity of chemotherapy or radiation treatment and the cancer is not found in their corpse, this is reflected as a statistical success? The death does not have to be presented and the public only sees a higher "success" rate for the procedure.

Prevention is, of course, the best method; and every human being needs to understand that the customs and cultures of our ancestors had their reasons not taking the path that led away from tradition. Purification rituals are prevalent all across Turtle Island (Maanu). Blood purification rituals are done annually in order to maintain a good level of health and prevent the nesting of viruses and parasites. Anything suppressing the body's natural immune function is capable of turning into one of these new, "modern epidemics.

Diet and exercise were important parts of a healthy life. The hydrogenated fats, refined sugars, social alcohol usage, food preservatives and high amounts of animal flesh in the diet are building blocks for disaster. A traditional diet consists of a high fibre intake, fruits, nuts, berries, root vegetables, leaf vegetables, fish, clean animal products (very sparingly), and of course, the "three sisters": corn, beans and squash. Building a diet around the "three sisters" will ensure completeness in essential nutrients and proteins. Herbal teas are also very important in traditional Ixachitlan life. Here are a few helpful herbs found in Maanu:

  • Wild Sarsaparilla - used to prevent diabetes and cancer

  • Garlic - eaten daily will combat active cancers

  • Bittersweet - inhibits the growth of tumours and reverses progress of tumour growth

  • Bloodroot - used to treat cancer when ingested as a tincture

  • White Cedar - a tincture made from the fresh green twigs and used in a variety of cancer treatments

  • Red Clover - also known as "Times of Winds & Changes" and mentioned in many prophecies around Maanu as the plant of the millennium. Promotes rapid healing when used together with other herbs by traditional healers.

Other more professional treatments are available with traditional priests/healers. Sadly, the modern American is under the misconception that a medical doctor is needed to facilitate the poisoning or cutting of the body and/or removing of its limbs and organs to bring about health while traditional healing is denigrated to something that anyone can do in one's own kitchen. There are more potent treatments that must be facilitated only by traditional healing technicians. Seek out your closest community brujo for more information.

Kemetic Healing

In the Kemetic traditions of healing, the behaviour of cancerous cells is identified as a perfect example of an imbalance of the energies that maintain life. The balance of constructive and destructive forces must be maintained for life to exist. In the body, cells are constantly dying; and cells are constantly regenerating. The pace of each balances the other. The layperson often thinks that it is the destroying energies, or "evil", that humans must beware of. Our Kemetic ancestors exposed this as a misunderstanding, long ago, at the dawn of human refinement. Life is maintained only by the proper balance or harmony of these two forces. These two forces will be in a constant chaotic battle; and it is that battle that we depend on. Evil by itself will end life. Interestingly, good by itself will do the same--end life. Our Kemetic ancestors called this concept Heru-Set; and most cultures since have some term to express the same dynamic (I.e. the Chinese yin and yang). Cancer represents this notion because cell regeneration-which is what heals a wound after an injury--is thrown out of balance and turns into one of the most terrifying diseases humans face. Cancer is a whole body disease. The immune system in a state of dysfunction is not properly regulating the tumour growth and containment; and the body is not able to distinguish the tumour growth from its own healthy cells. The tumour growth is then fed, instead of starved and flushed out of the body, and it then has the chance of becoming independent enough to recruit surrounding cells. This is known as malignancy.

Prostate cancer, specifically, is difficult to address. Not for any lack of knowledge on the part of Kemetic healers, but because it deals with one of the touchy subjects for modern men in the colonial life-style. Today sex has become a multi-billion dollar industry in pornography, sex products and medical sexual stimulants. This is not all. Almost all industries play on sexual desires in their marketing and advertising campaigns to hook the attention of the modern consumer. By adulthood, men and women both have their own ideas and opinions about sex; and because it is viewed as a height of carnal pleasure, few are willing to have their opinions and beliefs challenged. Facing an epidemic such as this, we must put all of our preferences aside and reassess them while keeping an honest and open-mind in our search for help and guidance.

The prostate gland, according to Kemetic healing, is responsible for many functions. It is really like the centre or heart of both the reproductive and urinary systems of the male body. It not only produces fluids for the production of semen, but it also regulates urine and semen flow, as well as the flow of blood to the erect penis. For this reason, the prostate is an extremely strong gland. It is, besides the heart, the only organ in the body which pulls on energy and blood from the entire body in order to maintain an erection and ejaculate sperm. It can easily be said that the ejaculation of sperm is the most important aspect of sex in human survival. The sexual act, no matter how much pleasure we may or may not receive from it, is the only naturally occurring phenomenon that perpetuates the human species. Therefore the prostate gland is strong enough so that on a man's deathbed it can pull energy from all over the body to give a man one last chance at perpetuating his life-force, family and species. The act itself is very draining on a man. All men have witnessed the energy drain experienced after ejaculating.

Most serious athletes all over the world will abstain from sex for weeks leading up to an event in order to maintain their life force and energy.

If that is compared to the lifestyle of most colonial men and women today, we can see a huge discrepancy. Today more and more products are being marketed for men in hopes of helping them hold a longer, stronger erection. This only multiplies the strain on the prostate gland. One Ankhkasta healer commented,

Interestingly enough, at the same time that drugs for longer erections are being marketed, the technology to create babies in a lab is becoming more and more pervasive. It is as if modern science is replacing the sacredness of human life and its perpetuation with its own artificial projects and giving human beings all the tools to walk a path towards self-destruction.

The whole society seems to be set up against the nature, strength and fragility, of the prostate gland. Today, men are worried about long-lasting erections, forgetting that, most importantly, sex is for the ejaculation. They also have been submitted to romantic cultures that promote things like foreplay that just don't serve a mans nature. With the excessive amount of sexual activity that the modern man partakes in, the natural signs of the body are lost. The body in a natural setting will experience an overflow of energy at certain times. It Is in these times that a man seeks out a partner and tries to reproduce, just as all Canimals enter a state of "heat". In modern society, when every billboard, television commercial, newsprint advertisement etc. Is selling sex, those urges will be constantly provoked in a man; and he will be in a state of sexual psychosis, craving sex even when the body is not interested. Then a couple will need to "arouse" each other in a situation of foreplay just in order to have sex. This is unnatural and excessive. This excessive behaviour has a major strain on both men and women. (See Rising Firefly Issue #48 for effects on women).

The first sign of an overworked prostate is inflammation. An inflamed prostate gland is more súsceptible to infection, especially If sexual behaviour does not change. Long periods of inflammation and infection invite cancerous reactions of cells. Not every man will develop cancer, however, and many factors play into this.

Cancer itself is not hereditary; but fathers with weak prostates due to inflammation or Infection, can pass on a prostate imbalance to their children if the situation goes unresolved. This explains why Blacks in America are clearly leading the world in the rate of prostate cancer cases. In American chattel slavery, black men and women were bred for the slave-masters to increase their as-sets. Many plantations would produce as many slaves as they possibly could to increase their workforce and profit, If since the times of chattel slavery, the integrity of the black male's prostate gland has been degenerating, then the addition of a sex-obsessed society and an obsession with sex within colonized black culture, art and media have pushed us even further into the disaster we see today.

One of the most important factors that distinguishes those who will develop cancer from those who will just suffer from other prostate diseases is the modern diet. Unfortunately the integrity of the diet seems to be declining with every "advancement" of modern science. New preservatives and unnatural procedures to improve the look and shelf life of foods are taking us further and further away from a harmonious existence on this planet. The main contributing factor in cancer growth and accumulation is hormones in the diet. Livestock are pumped with excessive hormones in order to produce more assets for their "slave masters". Even a diet of *clean* and natural meat provides additional hormones to the diet, considering the animal already contains its own hormones, It should be understood that the colonial diet is even more meat-heavy than the diet of indigenous cultures in territories that are barren and without vegetation, Eating animal flesh for all three meals of the day is in no way normal: and every reader should understand this, Our health and livelihood are becoming victims of the culture of greed and obsession that is dominating the world. Our individual survival will depend on our ability to admit that evidence is pointing again and again to the fact that the older, original traditions of medicine are inseparable from human health and harmony on this planet. We will need to keep an open mind and do what makes sense as we learn more of what provides our harmonious health.
