An Extraordinary Man

A month or two before I sat in one of Master Naba's lectures I came to learn some information about the Dogon people and their culture. I learned that their culture, Kemetic culture, was the oldest living culture on Earth. I knew within myself that they would have more knowledge because of how long they had existed on Earth. I found out that all spiritual systems could not date back further than theirs. I never really embraced my culture until I found this out. I made a promise to myself then that if an opportunity arose to study Kemet I would take it. 

About one or two months later I got a flier announcing that a Dogon High Priest would be lecturing in New York. I went to the lecture in the winter of 2006. I sat in the lecture and and was satisfied to take the first steps toward learning what I was supposed to learn. I was ready to leave all that I knew behind in order to evolve. I took the Healing and Ka'at Ibi courses and worked to apply the knowledge I learned. My world changed drastically! I finally felt comfortable with my existence. 

Master Naba... There are so many things I could say about him. I knew that he was no average human being when I first met him. I have been through many experiences within the colonial world, I have worked from the ghettos of New York to Wall Street and I have met many people from many different cultures and never encountered anyone like him. I am grateful for what he helped bring back to the US, to our people everywhere. Now that he has transitioned I will do my best to show my gratitude - not only to him but to my ancestors who had led me to him... My journey has only begun.
