All Love Flows to the Self

Book Corner: All Love Flows to the Self

Hinduism is one of the world's oldest religions, perhaps preceded only by Traditional

African Spirituality (Kemetic) and the Upanishads are some of the most beloved stories from the Vedas. It is said that the Upanishads express the inner self, and when one has realized the self, everyone and everything becomes dear to his heart: one flows in universal love and consciousness.

All Love Flows to the Self: Eternal Stories from the Upanishads by Kumuda Reddy, Thomas Egenes and Linda Egenes is a collection of twelve stores that have been adapted from their original text in the Upanishads. These stores are written in a simple, yet poetic, manner, making them delightful for both children and adults alike.

Dedicated to His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (who has established a very well-known school in Fairfield, Iowa, USA), the authors contend that these stories correspond precisely with functions of human psychology. "This discovery shows that every one of us is Veda; everyone has the total intelligence of Natural Law and its infinite organizing power within their own mind and body."

The Maharishi practice includes transcendental meditation, yogic flying, and TM-Sidhi programs. Maharishi believes that the Upanishads are profound truths that dawned spontaneously in the enlightened Vedic Rishis (seers) in the depths of their own pure consciousness.

Included in this collection are the following stories: "Satyakama - The Seeker of Truth" "The Story of Shvetaketu", "Nachiketa Gains Immortality", "Raikva the Cart Driver" "Indra Asks About the Self", "The Devas and the Blade of Grass", "Yagyavalkya the Great Teacher", "Brighu Discovers the Nature of Brahman", *Balaki the Proud Teacher", Celebration "The Asvamedha - of the "Shvetashvatara Horse", "Teaches about Brahman", and "The Acharya's Message on the Last Day of Study".

Traditionally, these holy stories were passed from Master to Student verbally, much as the Ancient Kemetic knowledge. Today, however, some of these great stories can be found in one collection that is easy to read and enjoyable.
